What Not To Bring

IMPORTANT!

Do not carry illicit drugs either into or out of Australia. Penalties for drug offences in Australia are severe and could result in a jail term.

This information is intended as a guide only. Please read all quarantine information provided to you on your arrival in Australia carefully. For further information, visit the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) website.

For full information about Australian quarantine laws, please contact the Australian High Commission/Embassy in your country, or visit the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) website. If you have any doubts about quarantine laws when you arrive in Australia, ask to speak to a Quarantine Officer after you have collected your baggage. You will find them helpful and understanding.

Interstate Quarantine

Restrictions also apply to each state and territory for the movement of restricted items. Please check what items cannot be brought into Tasmania. Quarantine sniffer dogs may check passengers and their luggage when they arrive at an Tasmanian airport or ferry terminal.
