From Japan to Canada, Australia and Vietnam, tourism really has taken Satomi on a global path.

Having completed a Tourism Marketing and Operations Diploma at Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology, Canada, Satomi decided to venture to Tasmania and graduated with a Bachelor of Tourism in December 2007. Size of the School and the natural environment in Tasmania were key factors in Satomi’s choice to pursue her tourism studies at UTAS.

Satomi is now headed for Vietnam where she has secured a position with a tour operator that specialises in arrangements for Japanese travelers. This will enable Satomi to combine her Japanese language skills and cultural background with her knowledge of tourism and passion for living in foreign countries.

“My particular course has helped me to expand my views about tourism. I am looking forward to being able to suggest new way of approaching tourists through education about eco/sustainable tourism, which was an important focus of my course”.
