Education & Scholarship Advisor
Australian Education International (AEI), Pakistan
& Assistant Professor, Institute of Education and Research -
Punjab University, Lahore
Sajida enjoyed her time in Tasmania so much that she came back twice! She was originally an Aus-Aid student in 1999-2000, and then returned again in 2004.
Sajida credits her postgraduate studies in the School of Education as greatly enhancing her career in this field. Having completed a Master of Education in 2005, followed by a Master of Education with Honours in 2008, Sajida is now back in her home country of Pakistan working for AEI. She is on secondment from her permanent position as an Assistant Professor with Punjab University.
“The School of Education provided me with opportunities to observe school environments and classroom practices in and around Launceston. This and other experiences helped me to acquire in-depth understanding of various aspects of the education system, which in turn facilitated greater clarity in my concepts and helped me gain recognition in my home institution (Punjab University) as a result.
Some of Sajida’s highlights of her study with UTAS were the supportive environment extended to her as a postgraduate student, facilities and technology available and the cultural diversity in Tasmania. “Tasmania symbolised a place for me where nature and natural resources are cherished and are taken care of. I never felt like a foreigner as diversity is celebrated, and I loved the multicultural society in Tasmania.”
