Having a lecturer who had graduated from UTAS and a recommendation by her agent was how Nooralam from Singapore initially came to find out about UTAS. The deciding factor in choosing UTAS as the place to study her Bachelor of Biomedical Science was the program’s accreditation with the professional body – Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS).
Nooralam graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (First Class Honours), and found it quite easy to find employment as the UTAS Biomedical Science program is so highly regarded in the industry. She credits UTAS for teaching her everything from lab skills to life skills and places great value on being invited to undertake an Honours year. “The program provided a good foundation in learning new skills and concepts and now I understand why there was so much emphasis on the importance of the lab component in every subject we did.”
“The city of Launceston is one of the highlights of my study with UTAS as it is a good, affordable place to study with very few distractions (allowing me to achieve excellent grades!) and UTAS helped me to meet my objectives of getting an excellent degree but staying within my budget”.
