Senior Pharmacist - Essential Drugs Program,
Ministry of Health, Bhutan
Manusika was proud to be one of the first students from the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan to study at the University of Tasmania. Being a pharmacist by profession, Manusika has also studied a Master of Pharmacy (Honours) from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. After working for two years as a hospital pharmacist, she fulfilled her lifetime ambition of coming to Australia.
“I came across the University of Tasmania website by accident and found the Master of Pharmaceutical Science course. I was interested in expanding my career opportunities as well as developing my research skills so I decided to apply. And I am glad I did! As well as enjoying the course, Tasmania is a great place to live and study and I am happy to have spent a short, but nonetheless very significant part of my life there.”
Manusika has returned to Bhutan and is now working as a pharmacist in a government agency looking after procurement, distribution and management of medical supplies for the public sector. In addition she is also responsible for conducting training courses and teaching certificate level programs to health workers on all aspects related to pharmaceuticals.
