Having completed a Middle School Teaching Certificate in her home country of
P.R. China, Joanlyn Qionglin Wang chose to study her Master of Education at UTAS because of reputation, the unique location of Tasmania and well-known professors. Specialising in TESOL and graduating in 2007, Joanlyn is now working as a Course Consultant with Meten International English.
Joanlyn advises that the knowledge gained during her course is applicable to her current position and future prospects, while the highlights of studying at UTAS were the flexible course structure, supportive supervisors and friendly environment for international students.
“Based on the special geography, Tasmania is a unique place where people are more friendly than most places I have visited. Also, UTAS applies better policies as to language and cultural environment for international students. UTAS may not be perfect but no university is. However, it is a great place to grow personally and professionally. It is also place where you can realise your potential.”
