Master of Professional Accounting (Specialisation), Graduated 2006
Achint, originally from India, completed the Master of Professional Accounting (Specialisation) degree with UTAS in 2006 and is now working as an Accounting Analyst at Tenbensel & Dee Chartered Accountants in Hobart, Tasmania.
“There are many outstanding universities in Australia. Choosing the right university is a crucial and a critical decision. UTAS appealed to me not only for its organised and well structured degrees, experienced academic staff, and friendly student services but also because it is the 4th oldest university in Australia. UTAS is one of Australia’s prestigious sandstone universities and has a history of excellence that spans over a 100 years. Moreover, being a nature lover myself, UTAS was definitely the ‘natural’ place to be!
The Master of Professional Accounting (Specialisation) stands out as a program that helps students to build skills, competencies and knowledge that give them the opportunity to add value to their clients in their future employment. The MPAS program was unique as it not only trained me as a professional accountant but also gave me the opportunity to specialise in an area of business other than accounting. The MPAS program is accredited by CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and meets the strict accreditation requirements laid down by CPA Australia and ICAA. In all, the MPAS program has built a strong foundation for my career as a professional accountant.
Studying at UTAS has been an experience of a lifetime. It was an intellectually satisfying experience learning from well qualified lecturers. I also had the opportunity to mingle and make friends with students from all corners of the world. There are numerous student associations and clubs that organise social events, the library is well stocked and the staff are very friendly and understanding.
Living in Tasmania has been an enjoyable experience. The wilderness and wines, ancient rivers and mountains, convict built heritage, clean green gourmet foods, wooden boats and deep harbours - Tasmania has it all! Where else in the world can one experience pristine wilderness by driving a mere 30 minutes from the city? Tasmania also boasts the cleanest air and water in the world!
Studying and living in Tasmania is a unique experience, not to be experienced on the mainland.”
