Humboldt State University, the northern most campus in the California State University system, offers students personal attention and mentoring from their professors in a small, residential community. It features a wide range of academic programs, with 49 majors and nationally recognized programs in natural resources and science.

At Humboldt State, students take part in exceptional hands-on learning opportunities. Undergraduate and graduate students can engage in forest exploration, film production, wildlife studies, tribal research, archaeological digs, oceanography and more.

The campus’s location along California’s pristine coast, among the mighty Redwood State and National parks (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and beautiful inland rivers make Humboldt one of the most appealing spots in California. With such a beautiful natural setting, it’s no wonder that Humboldt State is known for a longstanding commitment to the environment, and there are many class offerings, research efforts and special projects related to environmental sustainability.

Our international students participate in activities that range from soccer to yoga, surfing to rock climbing, building cob walls to music festivals, and everything in between. Small class sizes, faculty and staff who know you by name, and a robust nightlife in a small college centered town round out the picture.
