Students who have completed prior post-secondary study may apply for credit towards their UTAS degree. The information needed when applying for credit is:
Course Outline
- The grading system used and the minimum pass mark required
- A list of all the subject/units within the course*
- A schedule of when the units are studied (i.e. Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 etc.)*
- Information on which units are compulsory and which units are electives*
- The length and structure of the course (i.e. 4 units per semester - 2 semesters per year - 3 years in total)*
A unit outline of each individual unit - this is usually 3 or 4 pages long and must include:
- A full description of the unit
- The skills the student should have gained by the end of the these studies
- A teaching outline (i.e. week-by-week list of topics of lectures)
- Textbook list
- Teaching hours for each unit (i.e. lectures, workshops, tutorials)
- Method of assessment (i.e. a list of all assessment required in this unit)
* Not necessary for degree-level studies completed at an Australian university
Please note:
- Credit applications cannot be assessed if the above documents are not supplied.
- Credit can normally only be granted for studies taken within the past 10 years.
