Applications for Semester 1, 2010 Intake have now Closed!
Information for international students interested in applying for the University of Tasmania's Master of Pharmaceutical Science degree commencing in July 2010.
The Master of Pharmaceutical Science does not lead to registration as a Pharmacist in Australia.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Australian Bachelor’s degree in a science-based discipline* (or equivalent) with a credit average in the final 2 years of the degree.
- China: 60%
- India: 58%
- Thailand: GPA 2.4
- KSA: GPA 2.4/4 or 3/5
* As per NOOSR guidelines.
Meeting minimum academic entry requirements does not guarantee entry into the program.
English Language Requirements
- 6.5 (no band less than 6.0), within the last 24 months; or
- TOEFL 600/TWE 4.5, CB TOEFL 250, IB TOEFL 92 (no score below 20); or
- Evidence that a minimum of 2 years full-time study with English as the sole medium of instruction and examination have been completed within the last 24 months.
Other Requirements
- UTAS does not require applicants to sit an exam or interview. Assessments are based on academic results and are conducted by staff of International Admissions and the School of Pharmacy.
- The duration for the Master of Pharmaceutical Science program at the University of Tasmania is 1 calendar year and includes winter and summer schools.
Application Deadlines
- All applications for Semester 2, 2010 intake must be received by the 28 February 2010
Offers
- No offers will be made for Semester 2, 2010 intake until April 2010
Scholarship
- All applications for the Master of Pharmaceutical Science are assessed for Tasmanian International Scholarship (TIS) eligibility.
- No separate application procedure for scholarships is required.
- Recipients of TIS will notified when they receive their offer providing the necessary supporting documents have been provided with their original application.
