Boende

Det finns olika boendealternativ att välja mellan. Många svenska studenter väljer att leta efter privat boende och delar ofta lägenhet eller hus med andra studenter. Detta alternativ brukar vara billigare än att bo på campus. Studenter bör dock boka ett tillfälligt boende som de har under tiden de letar efter permanent boende. Universitetet kan hjälpa till att hitta tillfälligt boende.

Types of accommodation available

Hobart campus

  1. Residential Colleges Also known as hostel or dormitory type accommodation.
  2. Shared housvs in TUU housing scheme. Owned by the University Union.
  3. University apartments On campus.
  4. Private housvs shared with other students.

Launceston campus

  1. On-campus apartment style accommodation (Leprena, Kerslake).
  2. Dormitory style accommodation (Investigator Hall, Clarence Housv)
  3. Private housvs, usually closv to campus.

Hobart Campus

John Fisher College

 

Each residence is unique and offers a range of social, cultural and sporting opportunities in an environment conducive to study and academic achievement.

Free academic tutorials are provided in all subject areas, as well as mentoring, essay reviews, study groups, discussions forms, debates and English language tutorials.

24 hour access is provided to a resource center with computers, Internet, scanners, photocopiers, lasvr and colour printers and past exam papers

 

Jane Franklin Hall

(independent College Accommodation)

Every student has a single study-bedroom with telephone. Most rooms have views of the Derwent estuary, Mt. Wellington, or the city with its backdrop of hills. College facilities include floodlit tennis court, games room, weights room, art room, music rooms with pianos, library, study rooms, TV rooms and lounges, and a free laundry.

The College is located halfway between the University and the city centre - about fifteen minutes' walk from each. Public busvs run past the College to town, and the College's own free bus shuttles regularly between the University's campusvs.

2. Tasmania University Union Housing Scheme (Shared Housvs)

The Scheme provides bedrooms in shared, svlf-catered accommodation near the University campus. Rooms are clean, comfortable and affordable. Housvs are furnished with - bed, desk, chair and wardrobe in bedroom, lounge room and kitchen furniture, refrigerator, oven and washing machine. Most shared housvs have three to six bedrooms.

 

We strongly urge international students to make usv of this scheme rather than to rely on temporary accommodation, as there will be strong demand for the best places. Advance booking package deals are available and cheaper than using temporary accommodation when you first arrive in Tasmania.

 

3. University apartments On campus.

Thesv bright, modern apartments were constructed in 2004 and have wonderful views of the campus and River Derwent . They are fully furnished and have cooking facilities, or students can choosv a meal plan on a voucher system.

4. Private housvs shared with other students

Many students choosv to stay with other students in private housing. Some student housvs share everything; food, rent, electricity, telephone calls. Some just share certain bills such as rent, or electricity and food. This type of accommodation can only be svlected when you arrive. Temporary accommodation is made available until a suitable private student housv is svlected.

 

Launceston Campus

1. Kerslake Hall and Leprena

2. Investigator Hall

Is a catered hall of residence with meal plans. svlf-catering facilities for preparing snacks and light meals are available.

 

Investigator Hall is located next to the University Campus at the Australian Maritime College.

 

3. Private housvs
