Workshops
The Student Learning Skills Team runs regular workshops on English language skills and Australian academic culture. We are also happy to respond to student or staff requests for additional workshops on a particular topic. These workshops are open to students with English as an additional language studying in degree programs at the University of Tasmania.

Friday, 16 March | 11 am – 12.30 pm | Referring to literature is an important aspect of academic writing. If you would like to find out why it is important and how you can do it properly to avoid plagiarism, you should attend this workshop. |

“What is my lecturer really asking me to do in this assignment?” |
Monday, 19 March | 12 pm – 1 pm | Are you having difficulty identifying what it is you are being asked to do? Do you know the interpretation of academic keywords used in assignment titles? This workshop will help you analyse an assignment title. |

Organising an Essay |
Monday, 26 March | 12 am – 1 pm | If you don’t know where to begin when you are given an assignment, or if you have ideas but find it hard to put them down in your writing, you will benefit from this workshop. |

Friday, 27 April | 11 am – 12:30 pm | Is oral presentation part of your course assessment? Do you feel nervous when speaking in front of your peers and lecturers? This workshop provides you with the perfect opportunity to learn the oral presentation skills that you need in a friendly and supportive environment with a small group of people. |
