The Master of Pharmaceutical Science does not lead to registration as a Pharmacist in Australia.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Australian Bachelor’s degree in a science-based discipline* (or equivalent) with a credit average in the final 2 years of the degree.
- China: 70%
- India: 58%
- Thailand: GPA 2.4
- KSA: GPA 2.4/4 or 3/5
* As per NOOSR guidelines.
Meeting minimum academic entry requirements does not guarantee entry into the program.
English Language Requirements
- IELTS (Academic) Overall 6.5 (no band less than 6.0), within the last 24 months; or
- TOEFL (PBT) 600 TWE 4.5, within the last 24 months; or
- TOEFL (iBT) 92 (no score below 20), within the last 24 months; or
- PTE Academic 58 with no score lower than 50, within the last 24 months; or
- Evidence that a minimum of 2 years full-time study with English as the sole medium of instruction and examination have been completed within the last 24 months.
Other Requirements
- UTAS does not require applicants to sit an exam or interview. Assessments are based on academic results and are conducted by staff of International Admissions and the School of Pharmacy.
- The duration for the Master of Pharmaceutical Science program at the University of Tasmania is 1 calendar year. Students undertake classes in Semesters 1, 2 & 3 (Summer School) and as such, their program commences in February or July and will continue until the same month in the following year.
Application Deadlines
- All applications for Semester 2, 2012 intake must be received by the 29 February 2012
- All applications for Semester 1, 2013 intake must be received by the 31 August 2012
Offers
- No offers will be made for Semester 2, 2012 intake until April 2012
- No offers will be made for Semester 1, 2013 intake until September 2012
Scholarship
- All applications for the Master of Pharmaceutical Science are assessed for Tasmanian International Scholarship (TIS) eligibility.
- No separate application procedure for scholarships is required.
- Recipients of TIS will notified when they receive their offer providing the necessary supporting documents have been provided with their original application.
